Course Description
This nationally recognised unit of competency describes the performance outcomes, skills, and knowledge required to maintain infection control during skin penetration and personal services. It includes interpreting and applying infection control regulations, monitoring hygiene, cleaning and sterilisation procedures, and reviewing workplace compliance with applicable state, territory, and local council requirements.

• Completing required documentation and compliance reviews
Note: Practical skills must be demonstrated in a simulated or real beauty-industry workplace environment with access to relevant infection control products and equipment.
Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion, once the student is deemed competent, a certificate will be issued from Central Safety Training & Assessing Services Pty Ltd, t/a All States Training RTO 32577
SHBBINF002 – Maintain Infection Control Standards
This unit is nationally recognised and often required for council registration, salon compliance, and progression into other specialised units (e.g., cosmetic tattooing).
Refresher Training
Refresher training for infection control is recommended regularly to keep up with changes in legislation, public health regulations, industry standards, and best practices. Providers and council requirements may specify refresher intervals.
